Transition notes: Most of the equipment is the same as Lab 5. See the notes below.
- One current sensor from Lab 5 is put away and replaced by a voltage sensor.
- Remove the used batteries to the testing box, and put out 2 fresh ones for each board.
- Switch the components bags, making sure each bag is accurate.
Equipment List:
- Pasco 750 Lab Interface with the following sensors:
- 1-Pasco CI-6556 current sensors (Analog A) (C26.2)
- 2-Pasco voltage sensor (Analog B and C) (C25.H)
- BK Precision 1670A Adjustable Power Supply
- 1-Manual Range Digital Multimeter (DMM) (C26.3) with black (C23.H) and red (C24.H) test leads.
- Pasco EM-8656 AC/DC Electronics Laboratory (C26.1)
- 2 D cell (1.5 V) batteries (A12.1)
- Five 10 cm long wires (in Ziploc bag) (C26.2)
- Five 25 cm long wires (in Ziploc bag) (C26.2)
- Three each of the following resistors: 330 Ω, 560 Ω, 1 kΩ (in Ziploc bag) (C26.2)
- Two LEDs (in Ziploc bag) (C26.2)
- Banana plug cables
- 3-red (C21.H)
- 3-black (C22.H)
- 4-red and 4-black banana plug to alligator clip adapters
- 8 pin DIN cable (C30.H)
Notes and tests:
- Put alligator clip adapters on: both voltage probes, banana plugs coming out of the current sensor,
banana plugs hooked to the multimeter.
- Test all batteries to pass at least at the 80% level on the battery tester.
- Plug the remaining set of banana plug cables into the DC power supply and set it on the lab table.
The current limit knob should be set to 9 o’clock position.
- Place the power supplies on the table. Test the power supplies with multimeter, and then turn the voltage to zero.
- Test the voltage sensors and current sensor with the test file "2306_Lab6_DC2_test.ds" by setting up a simple circuit with the batteries and a bulb.
- Make sure that there is a supply of components in the TA cabinet.
