W70: The Doppler Effect |

|
A small speaker connected to an oscillator by a flexible cable. Turn on the oscillator and set it to a frequency of about 600 Hz. Twirl the speaker about an axis parallel to the front of the classroom. The class will hear a rise in pitch as the speaker approaches and a drop in pitch as it recedes. |
