The Theodore E. Leinhardt Scholarship Before coming to Virginia Tech, Professor Theodore E. Leinhardt made measurements on electrons in strong magnetic fields that were critical to later experiments on the quantized Hall effect. In the early 1960's, Professor Leinhardt created a research program in low temperature physics at Tech as the school made its transition to a research university. The scholarship was established in 1990 in Professor Leinhardt's memory. The Theodore E. Leinhardt Scholarship is awarded to a physics major who exemplifies excellence in scholarship and departmental service. Past recipients:2001 Zachary Lewis |
