The Awards Ceremony for 2005 was held on Friday, April 22, and 25 students were recognized for their excellence in scholarship and research.

Festivities began with a Luncheon at the Hillcrest Dining Room, which was attended by the student awardees, parents, faculty, staff, and benefactors. The luncheon was interrupted by a fire alarm this year, and the Dining Room had to be evacuated for about 15 minutes.

The celebration continued later in the Lecture Theater of the new Chem/Phys Building where the students were presented with their respective awards.

This was followed by this year's invited speaker, Prof. David Wright's presentation “Phantastic Physics”, in which he performed a series of simple experiments which demonstrated basic physics principles.

The ceremony concluded with a reception in the lobby of the Chem/Phys building.
