The Awards Ceremony for 2005 was held on Friday, April 22, and 25 students were
recognized for their excellence in scholarship and research.
Festivities began with a Luncheon at the Hillcrest Dining Room, which was attended by
the student awardees, parents, faculty, staff, and benefactors. The luncheon was interrupted
by a fire alarm this year, and the Dining Room had to be evacuated for about 15 minutes.

presented with their respective awards.
This was followed by this year's invited speaker, Prof. David Wright's presentation “Phantastic Physics,”
in which he performed a series of simple experiments which demonstrated basic physics principles.
The ceremony concluded with a reception in the lobby of the Chem/Phys building.
