The 2007 Awards Ceremony was held on Friday, April 13. Forty-four students were recognized for their excellence in scholarship and research.
Keeping with tradition, the award recipients, as well as their invited guests, faculty, staff, and benefactors, attended the annual luncheon at the Hillcrest Dining Room. Fortunately, there were no rain showers or fire alarms as there had been in previous years.

Dr. Seth Smith, class of 2001
|
Following lunch, attendees made their way to the Chemistry/Physics building, where faculty members presented awards to a record number of recipients for a second straight year! This year's guest speaker was Dr. Seth Smith of the F.M. Kirby Research Center at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Smith is an alumnus of the class of 2001. He described his research on how improved magnetic resonance imaging technology was helping in early detection and diagnosis of neural degenerative diseases, especially in children, and how physicists were contributing to that development.
When the ceremony concluded, students and guests mingled with faculty and staff at a reception in the Chem/Phys lobby.
