Tempest
The Physics Department owns and operates the following computer clusters.
Both were constructed and are maintained by our computer wizard Roger Link.

Consists of 137 Dell computer nodes, each node with dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors.
The cluster has 2 terabytes of storage, with gigabit networking.
Thunderbird is used in a variety of physics research projects.

Consists of 80 1 GHz AMD Athlon boxes. Each node has 1 gigabytes of RAM.
System is running Rocks 4.1 clustering software. Tempest is primarily for student computing research.
