Transition notes:
- Leave out the track, motion detector, mass set, and 50 gram mass hanger, and one of the thumb screws.
- Remove the force probe from the Collision cart and use it on the vertical support. the collision cart will be used in the lab.
- Put away Dynamic cart with the force sensor still attached and the cart masses.
Equipment list:
- Pasco 750 Lab interface with the following sensors:
- Motion Detector (yellow DG1, black DG2) (C1.1)
- Force probe (C3.2) attached to vertical support as shown in figure 1 (Analog A)
- Pasco 2.2 m track (T2) (elevation clamp on 45 cm rod (A1), small Universal clamp (C20.4) to table)
- Pasco collision cart with friction pad (C2.1)
- Angle indicator for track (C6.2)
- Light weight spring from Pasco track kit. (C6.2)
- Mass set (1-10, 2-20, 2-50,1-100,2-200,1-500 gram) (C10.1)
- 50 gram weight holder (C10.2)
- Sail for bottom of hanging weight (10” x 10 “) (C6.1)
- Electronic Balance (1000g) (A3.3)
- Vertical support for force probe
Notes and tests:
- Start the test file “2305_Lab9_RTP12_test1.ds”. Move a hand in front of the Motion Sensor and push and the force probe. They should register on the graph.
- It is important that there be a screw in the force probe to secure it to its support.
- Flip the small universal clamp and a greater angle can be achieved.
- Make sure all carts have friction pads.
