First VT prototype chamber

Back to Drift Chambers

We have a prototype chamber now!

Figures 1a-f - Norm and Juliette working on the prototype chamber.

Figure 2 - Norm's SolidWorks drawing of our chamber prototype.

Norm has been testing our prototype chamber's efficiency, current and singles rate. The first test is shown in blue in the plots; the second test in pink. The current and singles rates are lower in the second test than in the first, but the efficiency is approximately the same. The first test was performed on November 11th and the second on November 16th, with the chamber operating continuously during that time period.
