Virginia Tech Update for Tracking Group, Sept. 13, 2007

Drift Chamber:

We have obtained 7 F1 TDCs, VME crate, and CPU from JLAB for use until end of 2008 (see picture). We are in the process of getting that set up and hope to be taking data with it late next week.

Since we have been having some problems getting the chamber to run at low threshold, Roger suggested we try a card with one of the MAD style chips. Doug Higinbotham has found MAD chip board (in Nanometrics form factor) with LVDS-ECL auxiliary conversion board that he can loan us for testing.

As shown at the collaboration meeting, the move of the chambers upstream caused a bit of poking of the upstream chamber into the other octants. Norm did some further trimming of the chamber profile (as much as he could without redesigning the trace layout on the sense plane circuit board), and the results are shown below. There is a very slight overlap now, but we are working to quantify it better.
