The Roanoke airport is about 40 minutes away from the Virginia Tech campus by car, and about an hour away by bus. A one-way cab fare costs roughly $70.
The Smartway Bus service offers inexpensive rides ($4.00 each way, exact cash is required), Monday thru Saturday, between Blacksburg and the Roanoke Airport, as well as free rides to the Inn at Virginia Tech if you make arrangements with the Inn in advance (provided you are staying there). Click here for the Smartway Bus schedule, and here for a map of the bus route. The Roanoke Regional Airport is stop 3, and the Inn at Virginia Tech is between stops 7 and 8 on the map.

All trips depart from: The Inn at Virginia Tech, Squires Student Center; Prices Fork Holiday Inn, Blacksburg; and the Roanoke Regional Airport.
