1.Grades: At the
end of the term, your laboratory grade is reported to your
lecturer, Prof. Vogelaar, who will include it in his computation of
your overall course grade. See his syllabus for the details of how much
weight he will put on the lab grade.
2. Preparation for laboratory sesssions: These labs tend to take
up most of the two hour sesssion. You should read the lab and complete the
prelab questions before coming to lab. The prelab questions will be collected
at the beginning of the lab period. The writeups for the labs can be
downloaded here: CALENDAR OF SESSIONS. If you
need assistance with the prelab questions, contact Mark Pitt (pitt@vt.edu)
or Stefan Stoianov (stoianov@vt.edu).
3. Lab reports:
Follow these guidelines
for preparing the lab reports.
The lab reports will be due by 7 PM one week after the lab
to Stefan Stoianov's
dropbox located in the entryway to room 216
Robeson. Late reports will be assessed a penalty of 2 points for every
week that they are late. No reports will be accepted after 5 PM
on Monday April 28, 2008.
4. Makeups: There are only five labs,
so try not to miss any of them.
If necessary, makeups can be scheduled on Friday April 18. It is
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make an appointment for a makeup with Prof.
Pitt (pitt@vt.edu); this should be done as soon as possible after
missing a lab (or before
the missed lab if you know in advance that you will miss). You must indicate
in your email the reason why you are absent. If Professor Pitt deems
it as an excused absence, then you can make up the lab for full credit. If
Professor Pitt deems it as an unexcused absence, then you still must make
up the lab, but you will only get half credit for it.
