LONU-LENS

Mini-Workshop on Low-Energy Solar Neutrinos & LENS at Virginia Tech

Transportation from the Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA), the nearest airport to Virginia Tech, which can be reached directly from all the major hubs (Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Washington D.C., Atlanta, ...) can be accomodated in one of three ways:

1. You can rent a vehicle.

The time from the airport to the Virginia Tech campus is about 40 minutes.
Leave the Airport and turn right onto W. Aviation Dr.
Stay in right lane and take your second right, which is a ramp onto Hwy 101 (Hershburger Rd.).
Move over one lane as the right lane ends. This lane becomes the onramp to Interstate 581 West.
Take this and follow signs to I-81 south (toward Blacksburg, Salem and Bristol).
Once on I-81 south, you are on mile marker 144.
You will stay on I-81 south until exit 118-ABC, take exit B to Blacksburg (26 miles).
Follow signs to Blacksburg.
The first stoplight you encounter will be Southgate Dr., which leads to campus (do not take this exit).
Take the next exit after this stoplight and turn right onto Prices Fork Road. Follow Prices Fork Road;
the Holiday Inn will be on the left side and the Inn at Virginia Tech on the right side.
