Proposed agenda for 8/26/04 Primary Collimator Working Group Meeting:
1. Discuss primary goal of working group
(Errors from TDR on Qweak are: stat: 2.8%, had. corr: 2.0%, other syst. 2.1%
in 2200 hours for total error of 4.0%. With current setup, it has been
suggested that it may take 3300 hours to do this; see Birchall email)
2. What are the correct average Q2, rate per detector, and asymmetry for the
current (Boston) primary collimator? Neven or Jim should specify the
proper cuts in the focal plane, and there should be an independent check
or two of these quantities.
3. Is the current Monte Carlo correct? How to go about verifying that
it is. (perhaps do a run with a very short target to cross-check with
simple estimates from people's programs)
(tentative conclusion from Juliette and I is that Monte Carlo looks
okay; see Monte carlo cross-check)
4. Short discussion of what the "conditions" will be during the
optimization process:
(my suggestions: main torus and support structure fixed
mini-torus off
secondary collimator out
target walls and windows out; hydrogen only to start)
5. Agreement on what we will use for form factors, Q_p_W, etc. in
calculating asymmetries
6. Report from Tony on collection of materials for CVS update
(see Tony's request).
7. Klaus' report on his activities:
(see Grimm report )
8. Report from somebody (Roger, Greg, or Mike) about any conclusions
reached at last Friday's meeting.
9. Discussion from Roger about his proposed detector idea:
(see Roger's suggestion )
10. Discussion from Mike Finn about his proposal from last
week of how to approach this issue.
11. Schedule for future meetings
12. AOB
