It works. I did not know how exactly V-shape will look so I made one based on our recent distributions. It is 16 cm wide, and has a slope of 4 cm over distance of 100 cm. Attached files show the distribution of electrons over the bar, the distribution of photoelectrons for just the bar and for reduction of number of PE as a result of limited acceptance of the phototube.
