Welcome the participants of our Summer 2020 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program

The Physics Department welcomes these participants in our Summer 2020 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program!

  • Emily Kehoe, sophomore from Clarkson College, awarded the Raghavan Fellowship to work with Professor Shunsakue Horiuchi
  • Luke Elder, sophmore from Roanoke College, working with Professor Camillo Mariani
  • Alejandro Rodriguez, sophmore from Penn State, working with Professor Ian Shomemaker
  • Matthew Barroso, junior from Georgia Tech, working with Professor Camillo Mariani
  • Apurva Goel , senior from Univeristy of Washington, working with Professor Patrick Huber

The REU program is being conducted completely online this summer, and it will include the usual set of information sessions and seminars. The program started on May 26 and will conclude on July 31, with the participants reporting on their summer research projects in a Virtual Summer Research Conference on July 30.

We gratefully acknowledge funding support for the program from the National Science Foundation, the Raghavan family through the Raghavan Fellowship, and administrative support from the Center for Neutrino Physics and the Physics Deparment. The program is administered by Professor Camillo Mariani and Graduate Program Coordinator Betty Wilkins.
